1. Who we are

Wedding Venues Adelaide runs weddingvenuesadelaide.com.au, a directory of wedding venues in Adelaide and South Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the website, why, and what we do with it.

2. What we collect

When you use our contact form

• Your name and email address
• The topic you choose and your message
• If you're writing about a venue, which venue it is
• If you run a venue, your role and your venue's website

When you email us

Your email address and anything you include in your message.

When you visit the website

Like almost every website, our hosting server keeps a log of visits. It records your IP address, browser type, the pages you view, the page you came from and the date and time. We use these logs only to run and secure the website.

When we work with a venue

The business contact details of the person we deal with at the venue, such as their name, email and phone number.

Sensitive information

We don't ask for sensitive information, such as health details, religion or cultural background, and you don't need to give any to contact us. Please leave details like medical or dietary needs out of your message and discuss them with the venue directly.

3. How we collect it

• From you directly, through our contact form and when you email us.
• Automatically, through our host's server logs, and when your browser loads the website's fonts from Google (see section 6).

When you contact a venue using the details on our pages, that goes straight from you to the venue. We don't collect it.

We don't buy personal information or collect it about you from anyone else. The venue information on this site comes from venues' own published details and is business information, not personal information.

4. Why we use it

• To answer questions and messages you send us
• To check and correct venue information you tell us about
• To run the website, keep it secure and fix problems
• To manage our arrangements with venues, such as featured homepage spots
• To meet our legal obligations

We won't use your information for anything else unless you agree or the law allows it. We don't send marketing emails, and we would only ever do so with your separate permission.

5. Who we share it with

• Not with venues. We don't pass your details or messages to venues. If you contact a venue yourself, the venue's own privacy policy applies to what you send it.
• Our service providers. Namecheap hosts our website and email, and Google provides the fonts the website uses. They handle information only to provide those services.
• If the law requires it, for example in response to a court order.

How we make money. Some venues pay us to feature their listing on our homepage. Venues don't pay us for couples' details, and we don't give them any.

We never sell or rent your personal information.

6. Information sent overseas

• Hosting and email. Our website and our email (info@weddingvenuesadelaide.com.au) are hosted by Namecheap. Its servers are in the United States, the United Kingdom or the Netherlands, so messages you send us and server logs are stored there.
• Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests our fonts from Google Fonts, which shares your IP address and browser details with Google. Google may process this in the United States and other countries.

The venues themselves are in South Australia.

7. Storage, security and deletion

• The website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, so what you type into our forms is encrypted on the way to us.
• The website doesn't keep a database of messages. Each contact form message is emailed to our inbox.
• Our email account is protected by a strong password and two-step sign-in, and only the people who run the site can access it.
• We keep messages for 12 months from the date we receive them, then delete them. We delete them sooner if you ask.

If we ever became aware of a data breach likely to cause you serious harm, we would tell you and explain what we are doing about it.

8. Cookies and analytics

This website doesn't use cookies and doesn't use analytics tools that track visitors.

We use Google Search Console, which shows us summary figures about how our site appears in Google search results, such as how often it's shown and clicked. It doesn't add cookies or tracking code to our website, and it doesn't identify individual visitors.

Venue pages include links to Google Maps. If you click one, Google's own privacy policy applies on its site.

If we ever add analytics or advertising tools, we'll update this policy before we switch them on.

9. Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@weddingvenuesadelaide.com.au. It's free, and we'll respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, for example by writing from the email address you used.

10. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal information, email info@weddingvenuesadelaide.com.au with the details. We'll look into it and reply within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

11. Automated decisions and children

We don't use computer programs to make decisions that significantly affect you. The search filters and sort orders on the website only arrange venues for you to browse.

This website is for adults planning a wedding. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example if we add new features. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and we'll describe significant changes on this page.
